nETHER-451

the darkside of the chain

Most tokens just sit there. A number that moves up, a number that moves down. You hold the same thing you bought. Not this one. This one burns.

451 objects that live entirely on-chain — no servers, no IPFS, nothing kept anywhere but the chain itself. Each one drawn from nothing but code. And none of them hold still.

Every trade feeds the fire

Every trade through the pool feeds the fire, and the fire reshapes what's inside it. Direction, size, timing — it all gets pulled into the object and redrawn. The thing you buy at noon is not the thing you're holding by night. It chars, it shifts, it becomes something you didn't choose.

That's the point. You're not buying a picture. You're buying a process that's still running.

A v4 hook, not a promise

The mutation is enforced by a Uniswap v4 hook wired to the pool at launch. It fires on afterSwap, folds the trade into the ember state, and every object is redrawn from the result. Nobody has to run anything.

It can never break the market

The hook takes no delta, charges no fee, and catches its own failure. If the art ever broke, the swap still settles. A hook that reverts is a hook that bricks the pool for everyone.

The forge

Every pixel below is produced by Solidity at read time, from a single number. Nothing is fetched from a server or a gateway. Type an id and watch what the fire has done to it.

Catch it, or don't

There will come a moment — a form you don't want to lose, a shape the fire landed on that feels like yours. When it does, you'll be able to catch it. Freeze it exactly where it stands, and it stops mutating. Forever.

The ones who don't? They let theirs keep turning, and find out what the fire makes of it.

Freezing is irreversible in both directions. A frozen object can never be un-frozen, and the fire never reaches it again. It is the only trait a holder chooses.

The 451

Every object below came out of NetherRenderer.sol — the same Solidity that will run on-chain. Nothing here is a mockup. This is what the fire makes at one particular ember state; move the state and every one of them changes.

A frozen object wears a dashed frame. Char eats the body away as it climbs — past 45 the fire starts taking pixels, and past 70 the eyes go ember.

How it works

It surfaces from the underworld beneath the ledger — ETH buried in the name, 451 for the heat things burn at. Dark, self-rendering, always moving. Four hundred and fifty-one of them, marching up out of the dark one trade at a time.

StepWhat happens
1Hold $451. Every 2,000,000 tokens entitles you to one of the 451.
2Claim. The object is minted to you with a birth seed fixed forever.
3Others trade. The hook stokes the fire; your object is redrawn.
4Freeze — or don't. Catch the form you want, or let it keep turning.

Unaudited experimental software. The objects are art driven by a market — the fire does not care what you wanted it to make.
